Helping The Hills
Many of Ireland’s mountains are suffering from the effects of erosion, whether through increased recreational activity or natural processes, or indeed a combination of these.
As most mountain areas have a high conservation value, it’s important to respond appropriately.
Helping the Hills began as a conference, hosted by Mountaineering Ireland, which took place in the beautiful and historic Glendalough valley, in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains National Park. The event was opened by Minister Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht.
