HYBRID AGM TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 23RD STARTING AT 7.00PM.

Please be advised that Mountaineering Ireland’s AGM will be held on Tuesday 23rd May at 7:00pm online (via Zoom) and in person at the Irish Sport HQ building as we deliver a hybrid approach for this year’s AGM. All Mountaineering Ireland members are welcome to attend the AGM. There are two motions being put forward this year, as well as four nominees for election to the Board of Mountaineering Ireland, and one nominee for President. 

Time and Venue

The AGM will be held at Irish Sport HQ, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, D15 DY62 and online, starting at 7pm.

AGM Registration

All Mountaineering Ireland members can attend the AGM in person, however only voting delegates can attend via Zoom to uphold the integrity of the voting process. Those who cannot attend in person or on Zoom will have the opportunity to watch it livestreamed on our YouTube channel. All members who are attending - in person or on Zoom - including Club Delegates, are asked to register on this page in advance. The deadline for registration is 5pm on Monday 22nd May.

Notice of AGM 

Preliminary notice of the date, time and venue, decided by the Board for the AGM, was given on the 23rd March 2023 to all members via our membership email circulation list and placed on our website. This notice invited motions for discussion at the AGM and nominations for the Board. Notice was also placed on our social media platforms, and included in the spring issue of the Irish Mountain Log. All Mountaineering Ireland members have the right to attend the AGM.  

Current Board

The current Board of Mountaineering Ireland is: David Pollard (Chairperson), Noel Caffrey (Vice-Chairperson), Joan Mulloy, Alistair Wilson, Christina Petris, Ian Lawler, Brian Kennan, Dave Ayton, Mary Lally, and Rita Connell.

AGM Materials:

The Board of Mountaineering Ireland are proposing an Amended Motion - please see documentation for details. 

Voting at General Meetings shall be effected by Delegates. For voting purposes the Individual and Honorary Membership collectively, and each Member Club, shall nominate Delegates, according to the number of their total membership, as follows:

  1. For 100 Full Members or less, 2 Delegates, and
  2. For every 50 Full Members above 100, 1 Delegate, and
  3. For the remainder of their membership, 1 Delegate, subject, in the case of Member Clubs, to a maximum of 12 Delegates and, in the case of the Individual / Honorary members, to a maximum of 20 Delegates.
