BANNER MOUNTAINEERING CLUB Are you the sort of person who enjoys the freedom and adventure of the great outdoors in all weathers? Do you enjoy the company of like minded people who enjoy a challenge? If so the Banner Mountaineering Club could be for you. We are a newly formed organisation made up experienced and dedicated mountain and hill walkers. As a member you will receive updated schedules of our walking programme at locations across Ireland. Your membership means that you are fully insured with Mountaineering Ireland and you will receive the quarterly Irish Mountain Log magazine keeping you abreast on walking news and events both home and abroad. We meet every two weeks with walks scheduled to alternate on Saturdays and Sundays. We also plan overnight trips to places further afield once or twice a year. You can travel directly to the walks or you will also have the opportunity to car pool or get a lift to the walk location. All our walks are led by qualified and experienced mountain leaders and we cover a wide variety of mountain and hill ranges throughout Ireland. Whilst the majority of our walks on our programme are considered lengthy and challenging (5 - 7 hours) we also include a number of shorter medium level hill walks to encourage the novice hill walker.

Clare Outdoor Club was founded in 1985 by a local group of outdoor enthusiasts. Along with hillwalking and rockclimbing our members have diverse interests such as kayaking, cycling, surfing, caving, sailing, running, etc. Based in Ennis, our calendar of walks from September to June takes us to the mountains of Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Tipperary and Waterford with occasional walks closer to home in Co Clare and Co Limerick. Throughout the year we have weekends away in Ireland and abroad. The club is fortunate to have a large number of experienced leaders and members are encouraged to participate in training programmes such as Mountain Skills, Mountain Leader, and First Aid. We welcome new members, however be aware that our emphasis is on hill walks rather than low level rambles. You will find further information and advice on our website. If you would like to join the club or get in touch with us, please send an email. We would be delighted to hear from you.

The East Clare Walking Club came into existence around 25 years ago, linked to the development of the East Clare Way. We are a small club of about 30 members, mostly from the east Clare region and surrounding areas. We normally plan a walk for every second Sunday, with walks of around 3 to 4 hours duration. Most walks take place in east and west Clare, including the Burren, Limerick and Tipperary. During the summer, we travel further for our walks and we occasionally have weekends away. The club is friendly, informal and welcoming to new members and the focus is on enjoying the day.
