National Walking Day 2020 – A Celebration of Walking Together!

Date: 27/09/2020
Venue: You can walk whenever you want on Sunday 27th September and for as long as you want!

We Invite you to Celebrate Walking on Sunday 27th September!

As part of European Week of Sport we would like all hillwalkers to take part in National Walking Day on Sunday 27th September and celebrate walking in your area.

When and Where

You can walk whenever you want on Sunday 27th September and for as long as you want!  In order to follow the latest Covid-19 guidelines, we are encouraging everyone to #WalkYourArea, #WalkYourTown and find #HiddenGems.

We ask to walk with your family, your friends, your club or by yourself but to keep numbers of people to ideally 10 or a maximum of 15.

Why not celebrate by walking your favourite local hike.  Or try mountainviews.ie/lists/local/ to find a list of possible places near your location with suggestions from other users for routes and starting points which may suit your group. Your Local Sports Partnership will also be able to give you advice on places in your local area from waterways to urban parks to hidden trails. You will also be able to use Coillte amenities, Waterways Ireland’s waterways and blueways, Sport Ireland’s outdoor trails, National Parks across Ireland and uplands with allowed access across Ireland.

Celebrate & Share

Share a photo or video of your walk with us on social media. Tag @Mountaineering Ireland on FacebookTwitter and Instagram, your Local Sports Partnership and don't forget to use #BeActive #NationalWalkingDay #WalkYourTown #WalkYourArea and #HiddenGems!

Guidelines

Please keep up to date the latest Covid-19 public health guidelines.
