Belfast Youth Climbing Club - Sport Climbing in the Mournes

Venue: Altnadue Quarry, Castlewellan, County Down

A Saturday sport climbing trip with the Belfast Youth Climbing Club.

This event is aimed at families based in the Belfast area with children who would like to experience sport climbing at Altnadue Quarry, just outside Castlewellan in County Down. 

For children to attend this event, they must be accompanied by a supervising parent/guardian throughout the session.  A supervising parent/guardian may book a maximum of 4 places for young people in their care for this event. 

No previous climbing experience required.  Children must be aged 7 years or older to attend.

Below is a plan for the day:

09:45am - 10:15am Registration at Altnadue Quarry

10:15am - 10:30am Briefing from the Instructors for all attending.

10:30am - 13:00pm Sport Climbing with supervision from qualified instructors and volunteers.

13:00- 14:00pm Lunch – BBQ (Weather permitting)

14:00pm - 16:00pm Sport Climbing with supervision from qualified instructors and volunteers.

16:00 – 16:30 Pack up and event finishes.
