Title:  Documents for Mountaineering Ireland's AGM 2021

Dear Members,

Please be advised that Mountaineering Ireland’s AGM will be held at 7:00pm on Monday 29th March 2021, via online (Zoom). All Mountaineering Ireland members have the right to attend the AGM. There are two Motions being put forward this year for debate and seven nominations for election to the Board of Mountaineering Ireland, all of whom are outgoing Board members.


The AGM will be hosted from Mountaineering Ireland’s Head Office but will be delivered online in a live virtual capacity to our members.

AGM Timeframe

Mountaineering Ireland’s 2021 AGM will commence at 7:00pm on the 29th March and the exact process to register interest in participating (club delegates and individual members) and to submit questions relating to the AGM Agenda will be communicated shortly.


There are two Motions for discussion at the AGM, regarding changes to Mountaineering Ireland Constitution; (i) regarding changes to the date to hold AGMs and (ii) regarding changes to the terms of office for Board Members.

Notice of AGM 

Preliminary notice of the date, time and venue, decided by the Board for the AGM, was given in early December 2020 to all members in the publication of the Irish Mountain Log Issue No. 136. The December 2020 notice invited motions for discussion at the AGM and nominations for the Board. Seven vacancies in the Board of Mountaineering Ireland will be up for election at the AGM. All Mountaineering Ireland members have the right to attend the AGM.

The current Board of Mountaineering Ireland is; Paul Kellagher (President), Paul Barron (Chair.), Clare O’Connor, Imelda Buckley, Colette Mahon, Michael Maunsell, Gráinne McLaughlin, Geoff Thomas, Noel Caffery, David Pollard and Kevin O’Callaghan.

Members' Forum

The Members’ Forum is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 21st April at 7:00pm online via Zoom and is open to all clubs and members. The Members' Forum is an informal meeting which provides an opportunity for clubs and members to raise items for discussion, and this is often the catalyst for further examination or for action to be taken. All clubs and members are encouraged to submit items for discussion by email to by the 14th April 2021.
