Title:  New National Children’s Officer Appointed

Mountaineering Ireland are delighted to announce the appointment of their new National Children’s Officer, Mr. Gerry Gorman. Gerry comes from a professional background in safeguarding, is a keen hillwalker and can be seen most weekends in the Mourne Mountains in his native County Down. Gerry is looking forward to this role and stated “It’s an honour to be asked to take on this extremely important role and hopefully I will be able to support our youth section and get even more young people involved in getting out on the hills and climbing”.

Gerry takes over the role after many years of dedicated service and commitment to best practice by Paul Kellagher. Mountaineering Ireland would like to express its sincere thanks to Paul for his outstanding service offered and wish him all the very best in his role as Honorary President of Mountaineering Ireland.
