Beanna Beola Hillwalking Club
Founded 1994. Fortnightly walks on Sundays follow a pre-planned schedule, mainly west / north-west area and islands. Graded walks Level 1 (low, easy) to Level 5 (more peaks, longer and more strenuous). Occasional weekends/weeks away in Ireland and abroad. We welcome new members & MI visitors of all levels. Oyster Walking Club
The Oyster Walking Club was formed in January 2004. Its aim is to promote hill-walking & discovery of our environment for a wide age group. The club organises regular walks in the Burren, Connemara, East Clare and other locations locally. The club has an active membership of around 40 people, spanning from Oranmore, Maree, Clarinbridge, Kilcolgan to Kinvara.
Activities also include weekends away walking in Co. Wicklow; Achill Island and Dingle. Club members went on walking trips abroad including Portugal, Spain, Germany and Africa to name but a few. The club also organised a First Aid training course.
While the current club members are progressively taking on more challenging walks, the programme of walks continues to include walks for those new or returning to hill-walking.
