Where's Your Head At?

Following the success of the first Mental Training Seminar in early 2017. This event will give climbers of all levels and disciplines the mental training techniques and strategies to deal with the psychological demands of climbing. These techniques and strategies will compliment your physical training.


This event will comprise of two talks, a goal setting workshop at the Irish Sports HQ and in the afternoon there will be a climbing session at Awesome Walls, Finglas.
This Mental Training Seminar and Climbing session will offer a variety of personal, professional and sporting wisdom and advice.

With their diverse experience, knowledge and skillsets, the speakers at the Mental Training Seminar will provide you with all the insight and inspiration you’ll need to get your head in the right place to set goals, consider your competitive aspirations and to perform at your best while climbing.

This event will benefit your own personal climbing goals, training and mindset and also provides a unique opportunity to come together as a community and to talk about and do what we love most- Climbing!

The speakers for this Mental Training Seminar will include:
• 'Positive Competition'- Mindful Leadership Coach and consultant- Sue Redmond 
• 'The Importance of Goals that challenge you' - Performance Coach Dara O Boyle

Sue Redmond (www.sueredmond.com) is a behaviour change specialist who has worked individuals and organisational for the past 12 years, including developing policy at national level. Sue is an accomplished athlete, triathlete, ironman, martial artist, surfer, kite surfer. She holds a Black Belt in Tae-Kwon Do, competes in Triathlons nationally and internationally, completed an Ironman in Sweden in 2013, has completed 5 marathons. Sue is a performance coach for some professional athletes and a county GAA team. She is an avid reader and is published her first book 'The Athlete's Secret Garden - Tending the Mind for Peak Performance' in 2017. 

Dara O' Boyle (www.fitbox.ie) is the Owner / Head Coach of CrossFit Fifteen. Originally starting his Coaching career over sea’s, Dara has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and has studied under some of Europe’s leading Coaches and Therapists. He has 10 years of hands-on experience along with a complete passion for empowering people to take control of their Health & Fitness. Dara believes that CrossFit is a state of mind and encourages members to tune in to both their physical fitness as well as their mental & emotional fitness. Finding balance and happiness is a resounding message in Dara’s Coaching style along with an emphasis on enjoying your journey from Day One.

Organised by Naomi Sturdy of Elements Yoga, in association with Mountaineering Ireland the Mental Training Seminar takes place on Saturday 27th of January 2018 from 10am to 6:00pm at the Irish Sports HQ, National Sports Campus, Blanchardstown, Dublin and Awesome Walls, Finglas.
