Irish Bouldering League

The Irish Bouldering League is a fun and friendly climbing competition for climbers of a wide range of ages and abilities.


The 2017/2018 season is the twenty-fifth anniversary of the the Irish Bouldering League, reputedly making it the longest continually running bouldering competition in the world!

The Irish Bouldering League attracts climbers from a wide range of ages and abilities. From young to old and novice to expert the Irish Bouldering League provides a fun and challenging day out.

Senior, Senior B and Masters climbers compete on the Saturday. While the Senior category is for high level climbers, the Senior B category is an ideal category for novice climber to get involved in the Irish Bouldering League.

Sunday is the turn of the younger climbers, with categories for Youth A, Youth B, Youth C and Youth D.


Registration opens (registration remains open until 16:00) 11:00
Climbing starts 11:30
Climbing finishes 16:30
Results announced 17:00


  • Competition entries are accepted on the day of the competition.
  • There is no online entry.
  • Entry fees are as follows:
Mountaineering Ireland member €10
Non-member of Mountaineering Ireland €15


The Irish Bouldering League is open to male and female climbers in the following categories.

Senior Born - 2000 / 1974
Senior B  Born - 2000 / 1974
Youth A Born - 2001 / 2002
Youth B Born - 2003 / 2004
Youth C Born - 2005 / 2006
Youth D Born - 2007 / 2008
