Youth Scottish Winter Course - 25th - 28th Feb

This Scottish winter course is aimed to give young people both the skills and inspiration for winter climbing and mountaineering in Scotland. The course will look at the various elements for safe travel in the winter mountains including ice axe and crampon technique including the self-arrest, navigation, equipment, avalanche awareness, route choice and some emergency measures.

We are looking for applicants between the ages of 18 - 24 with hill walking, rock climbing and all round mountaineering experience who are committed to developing their talent into other disciplines of the sport. We expect candidates to be experienced at seconding rock climbs to a grade of S. Previous experience of the Scottish winter environment is not required, but applicants should be familiar with the environment and equipment.

A completed application form must be emailed or posted to MI's Youth Development Officer Paul Swail before 20th December 2012 at 5pm.
